Igniting Academic Growth - Weekly Learning Focuses

Encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes every night. Reading in elementary school is crucial for academic success, cognitive development, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

• Math: Multiplication Facts Use Patterns
• Social Studies: Geography
• English Language Arts:
  • Reading: The Sea + Module 1 Book Tasting
  • Writing: Informational Writing + Writing Complete Sentences
  • Grammar: Nouns
  • Word Study: Every syllable needs at least one vowel. Syllables have patterns that help us read and spell multisyllabic words.
  • Cursive: Capital and Lowercase Letters (Cc, Aa, Dd)
• Tier Time: Tier Time is scheduled to begin in the beginning of October. In the meantime, we integrate differentiated instruction for both reading and math in the classroom. This is the cornerstone of Timothy’s approach to education, and allows us to meet each student where they’re at and ensure they are appropriately challenged!

Inspiring Courageous Leadership

• Leadership in Action: Over the next three weeks, third graders are inspiring courageous leadership by partnering with their first grade buddies to lead Chapel. • Responsibility: Third grade is a big year for personal responsibility, which inspires leadership. Please review your child’s take home folder and initial their assignment book each evening.
