PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE)
PiE meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 am in the high school conference room. All are welcome!
Partners in Education (PiE) exists to promote Christian education at Timothy through hospitality, teacher support and fundraising activities to increase parental involvement, build Christian community and provide resources. Every Timothy parent is part of PiE. It is this partnership—between the school and families—that makes Timothy more than just a school. It’s a Christian community.
Learn about PiE's volunteer opportunities to support Partners in Education and move deeper into community with other Timothy volunteers and families.
Teachers are the backbone of TC. They spend their days mentoring and guiding students. PiE’s mission is to support teachers in the grade school and high school. Whether it’s getting a lunchtime reader for a classroom or filling the teacher lounge with goodies, PiE is always looking for volunteers.
Community Events is the committee that supports fellowship in the Timothy community. We host events such as the back-to-school pool party, welcome back coffee, parentpalooza, movie nights, skating parties, and many others. If you are interested in joining the Community Events team please contact Vanessa Clohessy email@example.com or Sabrina Childs firstname.lastname@example.org.

+ Ambassador Program
Coordinator: Amy Alex email@example.com
We strive to help create a Christian community of support and friendship among Timothy families. The Ambassador Program pairs new families with returning Timothy families. An Ambassador's job is to answer questions, provide guidance, and introduce new families to other people in the Timothy community. Ambassadors help to make the new family’s transition into the Timothy Christian community as easy as possible.
+ Apple Pie Day
Coordinator: Dianne Iwema firstname.lastname@example.org
A Timothy tradition! Dutch Apple Pie Day is held in October and requires the help of over 100 people to assemble and package the pies. Each fall, we make and sell 900 Apple Pies. Pies can be frozen and enjoyed at any time. Many people use them for the holidays or give them as gifts. It’s a great chance for parents, grandparents, and friends of TC to get together to raise money and no experience is necessary.
Every other year, Timothy Christian Schools hosts an auction to raise money for special items or campus development. The auction will be on May 4, 2018. We hope you can join us as part of a planning committee or procuring goods for the auction.
As you can imagine there are numerous facets to an event of this size. We are looking for everything from:
- Item donations for the live and silent auction.
- Advertisers for the program, which will also be a part of our mobile bidding technology.
- Work with the procurement team
- Work with the events team, leading up to and preparing for the event
- Help the day of the event
- Help the night of the event Everyone can help! One volunteer for Auction 2013 told us, “I don’t have anything to donate, I can’t afford to attend the event or buy items, BUT I can donate my time since the money that is raised helps my children!” Won't you please prayerfully consider how YOU can help?
Stay tuned for complete information about registering to attend the event. We look forward to seeing you at the auction as together we "Build on God's Faithfulness!"
+ Banket Day
Each year in the fall, we make and sell banket, which is a traditional Dutch treat made from almond paste. No experience is necessary to help and it is a great way to meet people and be part of a long-standing tradition at Timothy. The dough is made the first day and the banket is assembled on the second day. You may help on one or both days.
+ Book Fairs
PiE hosts two book fairs: the Barnes & Noble Book Fair and an on-campus Spring Book Fair.
- Barnes & Noble Book Fair: This is held in the fall at the Oak Brook Mall Barnes & Noble. Activities are planned during the day and evening for Timothy families. Barnes & Noble contributes a percentage of all sales to our library with a Barnes & Noble gift card. The librarians use this to help keep our wonderful newly renovated ES/MS Library stocked.
- Annual Spring Book Fair: The children view books during school and make their wish lists. In the evening, with their parents, or on following day during class time, the students can purchase the books on their wish list. Watch the TCS News for dates of these events.

+ Box Tops for Education
Coordinator: Sue VanLaten firstname.lastname@example.org
What do the names Cheerios®, Betty Crocker®, Juicy Juice®, Ziploc®, Kleenex®, Hefty® mean to you? To us it means “extras” purchased for our school. Box Tops for Education is a program designed to enable anyone to help raise money for Timothy. When you buy a participating product, you cut out the Box Tops logo and send it to school. Timothy receives 10¢ for every box top collected. There are extra bonus box tops and special opportunities throughout the year that help add to our funding. The idea is to clip as you go, send them in often (before they expire.) Anyone can help Timothy, so collect them from you friends, neighbors, and relatives!
- Bin in the grade school office
- Container on the shelf by the High School Office
- Area Christian Reformed churches – look for the collection spot.
Timothy received $3,000 from the box top program in 2014-15. A complete list of products and more information here. If you register for news and coupons Timothy earns extra. You can also shop online to help Timothy.
