Are you a parent of a student at Timothy? Then you are a part of PiE, which we refer to as Parents in Education. Parents in Education (PiE) exists to promote Christian education at Timothy through hospitality, teacher support and fundraising activities to increase parental involvement, build Christian community and provide resources.
Our efforts carry on all year long but kickoff begins with Parent Palooza, which occurs during “Meet the Teachers” in the grade school gym 8/19 from 3:30-5pm. It’s a great time to view our highlighted events and see where you want to get involved! That same day, there is a K-8 Lombard pool party from 7-9pm, followed by the TC TRI (timothychristian.com/tri) taking place later that week on Chicago’s lakefront Saturday, 8/24. A few weeks later we begin our annual Charleston Wrap Fundraiser, followed by Apple Pie Day and so on.
“PiE has been an absolute blessing in my life,” says Leslie Wolterstorff, PiE President. “I’ve had the opportunity to meet people I may never have otherwise, take on challenges we all face as parents raising Christian disciples, and most importantly give back to a community I care so deeply about.”
Every fundraiser adds up. This year we raised $57,000. PIE leadership also worked with the Advancement Department in raising over $108,000 for the Timothy Fund at this year’s Taste of Timothy event held at the Drake Hotel in Oak Brook.
