PARENTS IN EDUCATION (PiE)
Our community is one of the things that sets us apart from other schools. Parents in Education, or PiE, may be a small name, but it’s a group of parents that does mighty things for the Timothy community. Every Timothy parent is part of PiE. You can be involved in as much or as little as you’d like. Want to dive in? Come to our monthly meetings at 8:30 am on the second Tuesday of every month. Looking for a one-time volunteer position? We have those, too. Or just come to one of our community events like Friday Night Lights to meet other Timothy families. Here you can learn more about how you can get involved.
Parents in Education (PiE) exists to promote Christian education at Timothy through hospitality, teacher support and fundraising activities to increase parental involvement, build Christian community and provide resources.
Throughout the year PiE offers opportunities to serve by volunteering at one of the many fundraisers featured below that PiE coordinates. It’s a great opportunity to have fun meeting new people and help raise money for Timothy
Every year Parents in Education Teachers Support needs volunteers to bake and/or bring other goodies for the teachers and staff at Timothy. If you are willing to help please go to the Teacher Support section of this volunteer sign-up. We have needs both in the elementary, middle and high schools.
Community Events is the committee of Parents in Education that provides social opportunities for the Timothy community. We do this by hosting events such as the back-to-school Pool Party, Welcome Back Coffee, Parent Palooza, movie nights, roller and ice skating parties, and Fun Fair. It is a blessing to offer opportunities where families can socialize with fellow Timothy families. How do I select Timothy Christian Schools to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you need to select Timothy Christian Schools to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon Smilke will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make on AmazonSmile will result in a donation.
How much of my purchase does the Amazon Smile Foundation donate?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges. From time to time, they may offer special, limited time promotions that increase the donation amount on one or more products or services or provide for additional donations to Timothy Christian Schools. Apple Pie Day
Dutch Apple Pie Day is held in October and requires the help of over 100 people to assemble and package the pies the day of the sale, beginning at 8 AM and continuing until 6 PM. It’s a great chance for parents, grandparents and friends of TC to get together to raise money and no experience is necessary. Pies can be frozen and enjoyed at anytime. Many people use them for the holidays or give them as gifts. It’s always a fun day for all involved!
This year’s Apple Pie day was held on October 16, 2018 and once again, 900 pies were made and were sold out! Watch this space for information about Apple Pie Day in 2019.
Each year Timothy Christian makes and sells Banket, a traditional Dutch treat made from almond paste. No experience is necessary to help and it is a great way to meet people and be part of a long-standing tradition at Timothy. The dough is made the first day and the banket is assembled on the second day. You may help on one or both days.
Please consider helping us make Banket. PiE has spots available on Wednesday, November 7th from 6-9 and then various times on Thursday November 8th. Sign-up information will be posted closer to the sale.

Banket pick-up is in the High School cafeteria on Thursday, November 8th between 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Orders not picked-up by 6:00 will be resold. Payment may be made with cash or check (made out to PiE) at the time of pickup.
PiE hosts two book fairs: the Barnes & Noble Book Fair and an on-campus Spring Book Fair.
- Barnes & Noble Book Fair (November 13, 2018) – This is held in the fall at the Oak Brook Mall Barnes & Noble. Activities are planned during the day and evening for Timothy families. Barnes & Noble contributes a percentage of all sales to our library with a Barnes & Noble gift card. The librarians use this to help keep our wonderful newly renovated ES/MS Library stocked.
- Annual Spring Book Fair (April 22 – 24, 2019) – The children will view books during school and make their wish lists. That evening, with their parents, or on following day during class time, they will be able to purchase the books on their wish list.

Join the ladies bowling league! We’ve been bowling for over 40 years to raise money for Timothy. Any skill level is welcome — remember there’s a handicap to even-up the score! Grab your grandma, your mother, your sister or your friends and sign up today… don’t delay.

Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education is a program designed to enable anyone to help raise money for their schools. When you buy a participating product, you cut out the Box Tops logo and send it to school.
Timothy receives a minimum of 10¢ for every ‘Box Top’ that is sent in. Each year this means a lot of money for our school and you don’t have to spend a dime more! There are extra bonus Box Tops and special opportunities throughout the year that help us add to our amount.
The idea is to clip as you go, send them in often, before they expire. Anyone can help us, so collect them from you friends, neighbors, and relatives and send them in.
Box tops can be brought to any of the school offices.

Butter Braid Fundraiser
PiE is happy to announce that the annual Butter Braid fundraiser will be back this spring. Dates to be announced. Watch the website and TCS News for product and ordering information. This fundraiser was a great success last year because it’s a delicious, homemade, well known product that keeps in the freezer until baked. These are great for Easter, Mothers Day, and everyday.
Forks for Funds
Forks for Funds is a monthly fundraiser. Each month on a designated day a percentage of sales from a local eatery are donated to PiE for Timothy families that eat at the location. Watch here and on the TCS Newsletter for the monthly location and information about each month.
Gift Wrap Fundraiser
Gift Wrap Sale
Each year, a fundraiser is held in the fall. The items typically include gift wrap, jewelry, specialty foods, home decor, totes, candles, outdoor items, candy and much, much more! Delivery takes place before Christmas so perfect for holiday gift giving.
This year’ s sale began on September 6 and ends September 21. If you’d like to place an order online, please visit the website at www.charlestonwrapstore.com and click “shop now” in the top right hand corner of the page. If you have a specific student code, choose “students” and proceed as instructed. If you do not have a unique student code, simply choose “school credit only” and then enter our school code which is 11102.

Koeze Nut Sale
PiE is pleased to once again offer a product that can fill your gift giving needs and supports our school as well. Through the sale of beautifully packaged nuts, chocolates and gift baskets Timothy earns money. Many businesses throughout the Timothy community have used the program for several years and cannot say enough about the wonderful products offered.

Toy and Clothing Resale
Twice a year Timothy hosts a toy and clothing resale. Anyone can register to sell or shop. Information about the events will be posted on the resale page as it becomes available.

Cheese pizza from Mama Maria’s 1st & 3rd Tuesdays ONLY
- 2 slices is $5 per week ($80 per year).
- *Pizza will only be served one Tuesday in September.
- PiE Tuesday Lunch will begin September 18, 2018.
