Nearly two years after their season came to an irrupt end, the 2019-2020 State qualifying boys basketball team finally had the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments on Thursday, December 23 at halftime during the varsity game.

The 2019-2020 boys basketball team went 28-5 during their remarkable season and captured the first Super-Sectional championship in 40 years. The team was in Peoria ready to compete in the state semifinal game when the tournament was canceled due to COVID. That team never had any closure. There was no season ending loss, State Championship presentation, or even an end of the season dinner to celebrate their accomplishments together with friends and family. That all changed on December 23 when they walked out at halftime and were honored during a brief ceremony. It was a terrific opportunity for a close-knit group of guys to gather and finally conclude their memorable season being cheered on and celebrated by the Trojan fans.
