This year’s golf outing was held on Friday, September 13, at the Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge. We had a record 174 supporters of Timothy Christian Athletics partner with us. Golfers set the tone for a time of perseverance, athletic accomplishment, friendly competition, honorable sportsmanship, and good old-fashioned, God-honoring fun. The day started more wet than bright, but definitely early with breakfast sandwiches, coffee and a 7 am tee time for the first flight. The second flight followed with a windy but sunny afternoon, which included a brief intermission for burgers, brats, and chicken cookout, and a putting contest on the practice green and a chipping contest.
One of the highlights of the event, was an amazing low score turned in by one of our afternoon groups. The Jami Brighty foursome — Jami, Mike Klos, Kirk Immens, and Larry Bock — had a great game with a score of 54 and secured the title of overall winners for the 2019 TC Golf Scramble. While they didn’t get to take home a shiny new car, they did bring home full hearts and great memories! Additional contest winners can be found below, so be sure to give a high five to anyone you know whose name is on the list!
Overall, thanks to our “90” sponsors, parents, and friends of Timothy, the school raised over $160,000 setting a new record for Timothy’s athletic program. Praise & Thanks to God!
A special thank you to our many volunteers and to our TCAA Golf Committee: Mike Alles, Jami Brighty, Curt Carstensen, Steve DeBoer, Jim Marshall, Rob Orange, Chad Tameling and Chris Valdez; and, staff members: Julie Davidson, Matt Davidson, Jay Evenhouse, Jack LeGrand, and Robert Venhousen.
