There’s no better way to learn about the history of the United States than visiting Washington DC. Last week, our 8th grade class, along with teachers and staff, traveled to DC. Some of the sites they visited were St. John’s Episcopal Church, Smithsonian’s National African American History & Culture Museum, Ford’s Theater, the Lincoln Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was a whirlwind trip that was not only educational, but also deepened relationships through nightly devotionals, roommates (a first for many of our students), and sightseeing.
