Over the past few weeks the boy’s varsity basketball team has had the opportunity to play in several fun games. During this time the boys have won 8 straight games and hold an overall record of 18-3 and 7-0 in the Metro Suburban Conference.

Over the course of this winning streak the team has played some exciting games. The first of these games was a road win at Elgin St. Edwards. The Trojans found themselves down by 18 midway through the 3rd quarter, but finished the game on a 37-9 run that led to a 10-point victory.  Just a few days later the team hosted cross-town rival Immaculate Conception and walked away with a solid 62-43 defeat of the Knights. Another fun game was the team’s 54-51 double overtime victory over state-ranked Northridge Prep at Timothy’s MLK Shootout.

However, this past Friday’s Homecoming win over Walther Christian Academy may have been the highlight of the year thus far. After Homecoming was moved to the fall season a number of years ago, the team was excited to be part of the festivities as the alumni gathering returned to the winter season this year. In front of a large crowd, the boys enjoyed not only their game, but also the crowning of teammate Troy Hughes as the Homecoming King.

The team greatly appreciates the support they have received this year from the Trojan fans. While we will be on the road this upcoming week with three away games, we want to invite you to our last two home games of the year. On Tuesday, February 11, the Wheaton Academy Warriors will visit the WAC with the conference championship on the line. The Trojans defeated the Warriors earlier this year on a last second buzzer beater and this game is sure to be an exciting one again. Finally, we host St. Edwards on Tuesday the 18th for senior night. Please come out and show your support for a fantastic group of seniors who have demonstrated terrific effort and leadership all year.
