Timothy’s Mock Trial team impressed again at the Kane County Tournament this last Saturday. With over 24 teams from around the state competing, Timothy was paired against O’Fallon Township High School (who won the first tournament of the season) and Timothy’s longtime rival Hinsdale Central High School. For their performance in these matches, Senior Carter Bulthuis earned himself the title of Outstanding Witness with his near perfect score, and Senior Kate Buikema won another Outstanding Attorney title with her near perfect score.

Carter is a Mock Trial Outstanding Attorney.

Unlike their last tournament in which one attorney and witness per trial were chosen to receive awards, these two seniors earned their honors for scoring in the Top 8 in their categories out of all the individuals competing in every match.

Kate is an outstanding attorney for Mock Trial

With less than a week to go before the State Competition, this all-star varsity team — made up of seniors Kate Buikema, Joshua Pae, Lauren Ellens, and Carter Bulthuis, along with juniors Kaitlyn Radoha, David Sianghio, Leah Tornow, and Jonathan Pae—are raring for a victory. With the momentum they have right now, it’s practice, practice, practice—and praying for another state title.
