Elementary Chess Teams Capture Championships at Elite Tournament 

Timothy’s chess team competed in the 2025 Elite Chess Grade Championship at Naperville North High School. Timothy's second and third graders won their grade-level championships! The kindergarten and first grade teams came in second. Special shout-out to Lucy Yon, who placed sixth in the tournament in her grade level. Nearly 70 students participate in Timothy's K–8th grade chess club. Twenty Timothy students competed in this tournament, which included more than 250 students from other schools. Chess is not only a fun game of strategy, but it helps in the classroom too—it sharpens focus, memory, and problem-solving skills.
