We’ve successfully completed more than one third of the school year! Can you believe it? The pace and the workload have felt like that of Iditarod sled dogs. But by the grace of God, we have been one of the few schools (by percentage) across the country to accomplish what we have...and we’ve done it together, as a team. Take a moment and pause to reflect on that...and say “Thank you, Lord Jesus.”
Our entire staff has worked so hard this year -- everyone! And when it comes to the all star line-up pitching in for this remarkable achievement here at Timothy, it’s our teachers standing on the podium with the gold medal. Folks, we can’t do this without them.
So many of you have asked me the same question: "What else can we do for our teachers?" And many have specifically asked if they can initiate a bonus for our amazing staff. Well, here’s your chance...and our teachers have NO IDEA I’m announcing this (until now).
Each year our entire staff receives a [modest] Christmas bonus funded entirely through charitable contributions from dear friends of Timothy. This Christmas bonus was started decades ago by a handful of donors, and the list of those who contribute to the Christmas Bonus Fund has now reached nearly 40 strong.
But this year, I'd like to open up this opportunity to the entire Timothy community. YES, you read that correctly -- anyone is able to contribute to the fund this year. 100% of the contributions will go toward a formula-based Christmas bonus for all Timothy employees and your gift will be considered a charitable contribution. Furthermore, all gifts and the entire process will be entirely anonymous. If you would like to participate in this community effort, please send your gift by Monday, November 30th. (You’ll find instructions at the bottom of this communication on how to make your contribution.) Obviously cards and other non-monetary gifts can be given at any time.
Whether it's $10 bucks or much more...or a Christmas card, or a present for your child's teacher(s), or even an encouraging email, let's rally behind our staff this year in our “mission impossible”! It would be great if they needed to rent a U-Haul to take home the cards and gifts this Christmas, and if they needed to hire an accountant to help with their tax liability on a generous Christmas bonus. However you feel appropriate, let's find a meaningful way to say THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS to our staff.
Press on, Timothy.
