1. The Preschool Handbook is embedded in the Timothy Parent-Student Handbook, which can be located on the Timothy website and is full of information about preschool. Preschool staff will be going over this information at orientation.

2. First Day of Preschool
The regular preschool schedule will start August 25.

3. Preschool Milk
Preschool parents can sign up for milk on their Google hot lunch form.

4. Lunch Bunch & MealTime
Lunch menus are one of the many calendars available on the My Timothy app. Ordering is easy! Prior to the beginning of each month, families receive an email link to order meals for the coming month. The cost of each pre-ordered hot lunch for preschool is $6.00. If you forget to submit your student's monthly order, they can order daily in the elementary school office at a cost of $7.00 (preschool). Students can pay for their lunch with MealTime

Country House has an incentive program. If you order a hot meal for your child every day, the cost of each meal will only be $5.75 for that month. You will still have the choice to order monthly, different days, or a late lunch. Those prices are on the Google form sent out by the elementary school office.

5. After School Care
Timothy’s After Care program operates from 3:00-6:00pm each day. Email the director, Mrs. Denise Parker, parker@timothychristian.com, with any questions and you can register here.

6. Physical Examination Form
The State of Illinois requires a physical for all incoming preschoolers. This includes up-to-date immunizations. Please make sure your child has their physical before the start of school. If your child was in our preschool program last year, there is no need to turn in a new physical form if your child’s immunizations are up-to-date. You will receive the Medical Emergency Card at preschool orientation to fill out.

7. Wellness, Health, and Nutrition Guidelines
We are committed to providing a learning environment that supports and promotes wellness. The following steps have been approved by our board and implemented at Timothy:

  • Parents, students, and volunteers are not allowed to distribute food to any students during regular school hours.
  • The use of any trans-fat in food sold or distributed to PS-12 students during regular school hours has been completely eliminated.
  • The use of Styrofoam to serve or deliver food to PS-12 students during regular school hours has been eliminated.
  • We have eliminated student or parent distribution of food to celebrate student birthdays. Elementary school teachers will distribute a school supplied “favor” on birthdays that is appropriate to the grade level.
  • Any distribution of any food to students at school must be approved by the administration, meet approved requirements, and be communicated in a timely fashion to parents.

8. PS-12th Allergy/Medication Management
If your student has allergies that we need to be aware of and/or you need to keep medications at school for your child, you will need to have the below paperwork filled out and turned into the school nurse along with any necessary medications. Please bring in the proper forms and medications in their original containers on or before the first day of school.
PS-12th Prescription Medication Authorization Form
PS-8th Temporary Medication Authorization Form
PS-12th IL Food Allergy Action Plan Form
PS-12th IL Asthma Action Plan Form
FORMS AND DOCUMENTS LINK >

If your student has food allergies or asthma, or there has been a recent change in their medical history that is relevant to school, please notify Timothy's nurse Mrs. Erica Plaisier (plaisier@timothychristian.com). If prescription medications (including inhalers and EpiPens) are kept at school, either in the office or in your student's backpack/locker, the Student Prescription Medication Administration Authorization form must be completed and submitted at the start of each school year. This can be submitted by email or by bringing the paperwork to the office. If your student's healthcare provider has completed an Allergy Action Plan or Asthma Action Plan, please also submit this form.

9. Preschool Programming
Timothy Christian Schools continues to offer engaging preschool programming and options for our Timothy families! Planning for programming will continue as our teachers prepare for another wonderful preschool experience for you and your child. We offer  MWF morning or afternoon, all-day TTH programming, Lunch Bunch with Afternoon Explorations. The combination of these programs allows families to extend their preschool day here at Timothy. We also offer early drop off for your preschooler anytime between 8:00am-8:40am for morning sessions and pick up anytime between 2:30pm-3:00pm for afternoon sessions. More details about all of our programming will be shared with you at preschool orientation in August.

10. Preschool Teachers
Sonja Corrigan will teach our MWF programs, Katie Crichton will teach the TTH program and Stacy Wiegers will lead our 5-day morning preschool program along with the Afternoon Explorations. We are grateful to God for providing us with such dedicated and talented staff!

11. Preschool Orientation Days
Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22. There are no preschool events on Wednesday, August 20. Orientation is a time for parents and students to explore the classroom and meet classmates and teachers. Please come to school with your child for orientation. During the first half hour of orientation, you will have a chance to spend time in the classroom with your child. During the second half hour of orientation, the parents will leave the classroom for a parent meeting with their preschool teacher. This meeting will provide you with information about the school year and will give you an opportunity to ask any questions. If your child is participating in Lunch Bunch or Explorations, a separate session will occur directly after your preschool orientation. Please attend that session to gather more information about these exciting programs.
