Robotics Team Wins Judges Award at U of I Cornfield Clash

This past weekend, three VEX Robotics teams from Timothy participated in the Cornfield Clash at the University of Illinois. Out of 22 teams, 4454B (Cyclops) was the highest ranked at sixth place after qualifying and formed an alliance with 4454C (Crash and Burn). They made it all the way to the semifinals before losing to the number one–ranked alliance. Each of the teams submitted an engineering notebook and were interviewed by a panel of judges. The engineering notebook outlines the design, build, and strategy for their robot. During the interview, the teams shared what they have done and what they have learned in robotics. Team 4454C submitted a 74-page engineering notebook and impressed the judges enough to receive the Judges Award for the tournament. The Judges Award is given to a team for exceptional effort and for standing out due to perseverance, effective communication, and overall strong teamwork.
