Girls Soccer Win Third Straight — Continue Remarkable Midseason Surge

The girls soccer team secured its third straight victory on Thursday, continuing a strong second-half push. The Trojans defeated Chesterton Academy 9–0, led by a hat trick from Mackenzie Laslo, two goals from Kylee Zielke (with two assists), and one goal each from Ella Becvar, Lydia Kwak, Mia Schilf (two assists), and Lucy Wilgenburg (two assists). Annika Lemkuil also helped push the pace and had two goals and an assist in the previous game.

Defensively, Timothy recorded its third consecutive shutout. Goalkeepers Emily White and Ella Rickert anchored the effort alongside a steadfast back line of Kate Gagliano, Alivia DeBoer, Mikaela Bullard, Brooke Hargrove, and Lydia Kwak. Off the bench, Sadie Tameling, Naomi Tragos, and Susie Evon have provided valuable contributions and energy.

This team continues to demonstrate an incredible spirit of perseverance and encouragement. After facing early-season challenges, the players have come together, consistently lifting one another up and improving each day. Alivia DeBoer has especially embodied a team-first mindset, successfully playing 10 different positions this season and excelling in each role. Every player has shown a willingness to step in wherever needed for the good of the team.

It has been inspiring to watch this group support one another so wholeheartedly. As a team, they have drawn encouragement from Bible Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

The Trojans look to continue building on this positive momentum as they head toward the postseason.
