Trojans Run Strong at Regionals: Both Cross Country Teams Advance to Sectionals

Coach Laura Pergande

Timothy Christian’s cross country programs delivered outstanding performances at regionals on Saturday, October 25, with both teams punching their tickets to sectionals.

The Lady Trojans claimed second place as a team at the Lisle Regional, led by freshman Lyla Plaisier’s impressive second-place overall finish. All six Timothy Christian runners—Lyla Plaisier, Maddie Turner, Ella Potoschnick, Sienna Azzinaro, Eden Moore, and Addison Butler—finished in the top 25, showcasing exceptional team depth.

Three runners achieved personal records when it mattered most: Sienna Azzinaro, Eden Moore, and Addison Butler all posted their fastest times of the season.

The boys team secured their sectional berth with a fourth-place finish at the 2A Fenton Regional. Freshman Luke Cudney led the Trojans, joined by Nate Bemister and Joel Fan, who also earned top-20 placements. Peyton Scholma, Peter Azzinaro, Josh Kooy, and Drew Bemister provided crucial depth, with Peter, Josh, and Drew all achieving personal records.

Both teams return to their respective sites for sectionals next Saturday—the girls at Lisle and the boys at Fenton. With momentum on their side and proven performances on these courses, Timothy Christian’s cross country programs are poised to make an impact at sectionals.
