WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14: PRE-11TH GRADE E-LEARNING

On Wednesday, October 14, Timothy Christian School will hold an e-Learning day for students P-11th grade and they will learn asynchronously, or at their own pace, at home for the day. The purpose of this day is to give students the opportunity to learn how to access and use the online tools available to remote learners in case any student has to move to remote learning at some point during the school year. The second purpose is to allow teachers to continue to participate in training and collaboration around the new and unforeseen initiatives of this school year.

Seniors are not required to participate in E-Learning on October 14. Instead they are encouraged to use the day to work on their college applications, arrange to meet with colleges virtually or in person, or work on Timothy school assignments. There will be no expectations of class time for seniors on this day.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14: 9th-11th E-LEARNING DAY

Dear Parents,

Although students in grades 9-11 will be at home, October 14 is still considered a day of instruction when we will take attendance, teachers will provide learning activities, and student responses will be required. Please set the expectation that this is a day of learning for your child. Students can plan to spend approximately 30 minutes per class (3-4 hours) completing schoolwork that they can access through Canvas. Teachers will have an opportunity in the morning and afternoon to check emails if students have questions.

If you have any questions about activities in a specific class, please reach out to your child’s teacher. If you have any general questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the high school office.

Sincerely,

Brad Mitchell

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14: PRE-8TH GRADE E-LEARNING DAY

This day was originally placed on the Timothy calendar when it was developed and approved in January, prior to COVID, as an opportunity for students and staff to practice e-learning should the need arise. COVID changed many things; however, we do still want to reserve this day in our schedule for professional development for teachers and the chance for all students to practice e-learning in case a student has to move to remote learning at some point during the school year. This day will be an asynchronous learning day. Students are expected to log into their respective LMS (SeeSaw, Google Classroom, Canvas), view recorded lessons and complete assignments. Teachers will have scheduled times to check email and students responses so they will have some, but limited, availability in case a student needs assistance or has questions about assignments. Although students will be at home, October 14 is still considered a day of instruction when we will take attendance. If you have any specific questions, please let your teacher know; general questions can be sent to the elementary school office
