Teamwork

Matt Davidson, Superintendent

The research over the decades has never changed. A positive and healthy culture in the workplace always has a direct link to productivity. As I read the TCSNews every Tuesday night, which is our weekly electronic newsletter, I marvel at the accomplishments of our students. Productivity is soaring! We are winning in so many ways here at Timothy Christian Schools. It doesn’t take a very astute person to know that this doesn’t happen by accident or coincidence. It’s the direct result of strategic planning, a throwback work ethic, and an unyielding commitment to execution. There are 280 employees here at our school, and it takes all of us to accomplish this. For the record, it’s the greatest example of teamwork I’ve ever witnessed.

We conducted an employee survey this year in an effort to strengthen our team even further. As we strengthen the team here at Timothy, our employees will benefit…and our students ultimately benefit the most. The results of a strong team in this industry are seen in the classroom, the stage, the athletic arena, and a host of other places. We’re using the results of this survey to support our employees and the ignition of academic growth and achievement. After all, being excellence-driven is one of our values as a school.

The survey accomplished exactly what we hoped – a double impact. First of all, we’ve identified some key areas for growth and improvement to better support our employees. No different from any healthy team, we want to grow. Good leaders are always growing and adapting. At Timothy, our motto is Go Beyond—and that means we’re committed to continually learning, evolving, and embracing best practices. Our leadership team is all in and committed to learning and growth.

Additionally, the second part of the double impact: we were very pleased to confirm our hunch that Timothy is a great place to work! I am thrilled to announce that Timothy Christian Schools has been honored with the prestigious 2024-2025 “Staff Choice Award” by earning an eNPS (employee net promoter score) of 74! This is a remarkable and rarely achieved score. The benchmark/standard in Christian schools, according to ParentPulse, is 55 – which is an excellent score itself. So our score was 19 points above the Christian school benchmark! Most researchers and survey providers classify an eNPS of 30-50 as "good"; 50-70 as "excellent"; and 70+ as "world class” in any industry. Only a few select schools earning a score of 70 or above are awarded this coveted recognition each year, so this is an extraordinary accomplishment.

Our students can graduate with every academic and extracurricular advantage, but without Jesus, they have nothing. With Him, they have everything. That’s the heart of a Timothy education: Christ-centered, academically strong, and eternally significant.

As the superintendent, I’m honored that our school has earned this award. It is highly energizing, and I liken it to winning the Super Bowl. But what excites me even more is the opportunity to grow. Just like a championship team reviews game film after a big win, we’re diving into the micro-details of the survey with fresh energy and focus. That’s what successful organizations do, and it’s how great teams continue to win.

Our highest score in the survey was on this question: “I am encouraged to share my faith at work.” That brings me great joy! This excites me more than our extraordinary eNPS and award. We all know people in other occupations or other schools who are actually discouraged from sharing their faith at work, or it’s even unlawful. Praise God for this opportunity we have every day, and I’m thankful for the freedoms we have in our country to do this. Of course, we have plans and agendas to attend to, and it’s important to carry on with our professional development.

At Timothy, we are committed to academic excellence across every discipline and at every grade level. We challenge our students with academic excellence. But while rigorous academics are essential, they are not our foundation. The “main thing” is – and always will be – Jesus. Our students can graduate with every academic and extracurricular advantage, but without Jesus, they have nothing. With Him, they have everything. That’s the heart of a Timothy education: Christ-centered, academically strong, and eternally significant.

Parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Timothy should find it very encouraging and reassuring to know that our employees are ALL IN for the mission. They love our students and our school. They also love their work and each other. Most importantly, they love Jesus.

Thank you for joining us in our mission to uphold Biblical truth, ignite academic growth, and inspire courageous leadership – all for the glory of God.

Very Truly Yours for the Mission of Timothy Christian Schools,

Matt Davidson
