6th Grade: Developing Courageous Leaders

Sixth grade is such a special year because every sixth grader has a leadership role, whether it’s helping in kindergarten or preschool, raising the flag, or delivering mail. These leadership opportunities teach responsibility, initiative, and what it means to serve others with humility and joy.

Academically, we’re focused on igniting growth. We follow a rich, rigorous curriculum, and during our MTSS time, every student is placed in a small group that targets their specific learning needs. They never miss core instruction — instead, they receive direct, personalized support that helps them grow in both skill and confidence.

I’ve been teaching for decades — in both public and private schools — and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced a school like Timothy. Coming from a public school to a National Blue Ribbon School, it is truly night and day. This is top-tier, top-notch — like nothing else I’ve ever seen. Teachers here are genuinely supported and valued as professional educators, and that allows us to support our students even better.
