Matt Davidson

Over the weekend I joined hundreds of others in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Northwest Christian School in Phoenix, AZ — where I served as Superintendent prior to coming to Timothy. Northwest Christian School is the largest private school in the state of Arizona...and a place that will always feel like home. It was a blessing to hear so many people testify to the life-changing power of the mission of Northwest Christian School. As I’ve stated many times this year in particular, the Christian school movement has never been more important than it is right now. The gala was amazing! Julie & I had a wonderful evening.

One of the many highlights of the evening was having the opportunity to meet Bob Goff — the honored guest and speaker for the event. Among many accomplishments, Bob is a New York Times bestselling author. It’s likely you’ve read or heard of his book, Love Does, which is also a ministry...a movement. Bob is a difference-maker for the Kingdom. He is an incredibly fascinating and inspirational speaker. What a great guy!

During Bob’s remarks, of course he spoke a lot about love. He also spent time sharing his thoughts on Philippians 2:20-21 — one of Paul’s commendations for Timothy: “I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.” I was reminded again that our school is named after Timothy from the Bible...and I was reminded again that it is my desire that our school would be known in the same way — by showing genuine concern for the welfare of others. There are people all around us who need Jesus. As the Timothy community, let’s continue to lead the way with our love and genuine concern for one another and for others God has placed in our lives.

Press on, Timothy.
