The Timothy Christian girls soccer team stayed red hot this weekend with a 9-1 victory over crosstown rival, ICCP. The Trojans were led by Mia Schilf with five goals, while Mackenzie Laslo added two and Ella Becvar and Annika Lemkuil each contributed one. Kylee Zielke paced the attack with four assists, while Lucy Wilgenburg and Becvar each added two assists and Laslo chipped in one.
Timothy controlled possession throughout the match and displayed a tremendous team effort marked by unselfish play and a willingness from every player to contribute however needed. It was also a special afternoon as future Trojans from the middle school program were recognized at halftime. The team loved seeing so many young players in the stands and looks forward to welcoming them to the high school program in the years ahead.

The victory marked the Trojans’ seventh straight win, during which they have outscored opponents 53-1. The team has continued to grow and improve throughout the season through hard work, perseverance, and trust in God’s faithfulness. The return of some players from injury has provided a boost, but just as importantly, other players stepped up when opportunities came their way. That growth and resilience have strengthened the entire team and shown the depth of the program.
Timothy closes out the regular season Friday at Willowbrook before beginning postseason play next week. The Trojans earned a first-round regional bye and will host the regional championship game at Timothy on Friday, May 22.
This season has been a powerful reminder that perseverance produces growth and that God remains faithful and good through every challenge. The girls are excited for the opportunity ahead and eager to see what they can accomplish as the postseason begins.
