Girls Soccer Off to Strong Start in 2026 Season

Coach Nathan Drye

The Timothy Christian girls soccer team is off to an exciting start this season. The Trojans return a strong core of players, led by captains Mia Schilf, Kate Gagliano, and Ella Becvar. They opened the year with an impressive win over Montini and followed it up with a thrilling 4–4 draw against Willows.

Facing a challenging early schedule, the team is gaining valuable experience that should pay off as the season progresses. The Trojans continue to improve with each match, with many players stepping up in important ways—especially as the team has worked through some injuries.

Offensively, the team has been led by Mackenzie Laslo, who has recorded four goals and two assists. Mia Schilf has contributed three goals and an assist, while Annika Lemkuil has added two goals. Kylee Zielke has tallied two goals and two assists, and Lucy Wilgenburg and Avery Croff have each contributed a goal, with Wilgenburg also adding an assist.

Defensively, the Trojans have been anchored by goalkeepers Emily White and Brooke Hargrove. A strong defensive unit featuring Kate Gagliano, Caroline Ewald, Lydia Kwak, Alivia DeBoer, and freshman Mikaela Bullard continues to develop and grow. The group has done an excellent job adjusting and rebuilding following the loss of defensive leader Avery Croff to a season-ending injury.

With conference play beginning this week, the Trojans look to keep improving, build momentum, and position themselves for a strong postseason run.
