Honoring Those Who Serve: A Veterans Day Tribute

We have about 280 employees here at Timothy Christian Schools. It's one of my highest aspirations to meaningfully show love and respect to all of them. Such amazing teammates in this important mission.

There's one member of the team in particular who stands out among the rest today — Veterans Day. Ross Van Der Bill (Timothy's Director of Campus Life) is an extraordinary leader. He served in the U.S. Army for six years, including a long tour in Iraq. He is an incredible mentor for our youth, and has a unique awareness of what it means to sacrifice. He is disciplined, committed, and decisive. He's a great husband and #1 dad. And best of all, Ross loves Jesus!

Our school is better and stronger because of Ross...and our country is better and stronger because of him and so many other men and women who serve and have served our country in the armed forces.

I sent the following text to my direct reports this morning: "Find Ross today. Look him squarely in the eyes. Firmly shake his hand. And genuinely THANK him for his service." Make it a priority to find a veteran today and do the same.
