Legendary Mock Trial Team Finishes Second at State

Timothy’s Mock Trial team delivered another outstanding performance this past weekend in Springfield, earning 2nd place at the Illinois State Championship and continuing one of the most respected traditions in the state.

Each year, Mock Trial challenges students to demonstrate exceptional preparation, sharp legal reasoning, and confident courtroom presence. Along the way, the Trojans faced elite competition—including past state champions and top regional contenders—ultimately advancing to the final round. Individual honors highlighted the team’s excellence:

• Jennifer Stob (Sr.) – Outstanding Attorney (earned at every tournament this season)
• Abby McBeth (Fr.) – Outstanding Witness

Timothy’s Mock Trial legacy is remarkable:

• 8 state runner-up finishes
• Top 3 at State 20 times in the past 33 years
• National success, including a 3rd-place finish and consistent top-tier rankings
