Renew 2026: Students Test-Drive Future Careers Through Internships

Chloe Manguba is a junior and already wearing scrubs! As an aspiring pediatric neurologist, Chloe was one of the many Timothy students interning at Elmhurst Hospital during Renew.

During her internship, Chloe spent the week shadowing nurses and observing patient care firsthand. “This has been very good,” she shared. “I’m able to fully immerse myself in this experience.” She was inspired by the nurses’ dedication to their patients and their passion for the medical field. Chloe also had the opportunity to ask questions, sit in on appointments, and experience daily life as a nurse.

Approximately 80 students completed internships during Renew. From shadowing a detective to working alongside a judge, students explored a wide range of career pathways. Renew allows students to test-drive potential careers and consider how these experiences may shape future college majors.

Beyond confirming her interest in pediatric neurology, the Renew internship also strengthened Chloe’s confidence in integrating her faith with her future career. “My hard work is not for me,” she explained. “It’s for God, and to serve Him because He created me for a purpose.”
