The girls track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the IHSA Sectional Meet last Friday evening, earning a second place team finish in a highly competitive 2A field. In their first season competing at the 2A level, the Trojans rose to the challenge and finished ahead of several strong programs, including Montini, Glenbard South, Fenwick, Prosser, and Clark.

In addition to the team’s impressive finish, six Timothy athletes qualified for the IHSA State Meet this coming weekend, continuing a remarkable postseason run for the Trojans.
State Qualifiers
Kiara Holmes - 100m dash and 200m dash
Lyla Plaisier - 1600m run and 3200m run
Mia VanHekken - Discus
Anneliese Hopp, Leah Friend, Eden Moore, and Kiara Holmes in the 4x200m relay
This will be coach Hackert's thirtieth consecutive year bringing Timothy athletes downstate, which he attributes to their hard work and dedication. “We knew we would be lining up against schools much larger than ours, but this group proved all season that heart, grit, and belief in each other can close that gap. Their talent and depth mattered, but the way they competed is what got them here."
Congratulations to the entire team for an amazing season (Conference Champs!) and good luck to our state qualifiers!
