Timothy Earns National Honors for Academic Excellence

Amy Bode

Our elementary and middle schools have earned not one, but three prestigious awards recognizing exceptional academic excellence:

  • The Illinois Governor’s Blue Ribbon School Award — Timothy is one of only 28 schools in the entire state to earn this distinction.
  • The National CAPE Blue Ribbon Award — Timothy is one of just 55 private schools nationwide to receive this honor.
  • Timothy Christian Schools was nominated for a prestigious 2025 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.

Together, these awards affirm what our community already knows: Timothy’s students thrive because of excellent teaching, a Christ-centered learning environment, and the unwavering partnership of our families.

The high school previously earned the award in 2019, making this the second National Blue Ribbon distinction for the campus in recent years. In other words, Timothy is a Blue Ribbon campus—a rare accomplishment that demonstrates our commitment to excellence systemwide. Timothy earned this nomination by ranking among the top-performing schools nationwide.

Our K–8 program is built on a data-driven model of personalized instruction through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). Teachers use regular benchmark assessments and real-time progress monitoring to tailor small-group instruction for enrichment, practice, or intervention. Weekly Professional Learning Communities give teachers time to collaborate, problem-solve, and innovate—leading to immediate, high-impact growth in the classroom.

“Personalized learning isn’t just a slogan or a name at Timothy—it’s how we teach, one student at a time,” said Justin Horne, PS–8th Grade Principal. “This award is a direct reflection of our teachers’ dedication to helping every child reach their full God-given potential.”

Beyond the classroom, students discover their gifts through fine arts, athletics, STEM, service opportunities, and daily integration of a Biblical worldview. By the end of eighth grade, Timothy students are academically confident, spiritually grounded, and fully prepared for high school and beyond.
