$300,000 in 30 Days
Matt Davidson

Timothy Christian Schools celebrated Fall Fest and the Grand Opening of Trojan Stadium on Saturday, September 17. We estimate that over 2,000 Trojan fans made their way onto the campus throughout the day. As part of the ceremonial ribbon cutting program, I had the honor of celebrating our teachers, coaches, and staff — those who carry out our mission every day. They received a lengthy standing ovation, which I ultimately had to interrupt to stay on schedule for the night. They teach, coach, serve, mentor, and lead our youth. Timothy is committed to partnering with parents, committed to excellence, and committed to giving Jesus the highest place in all we do.

The event also showcased many of our students and their God-given gifts and talents. Our high school choir sang the National Anthem. The pep band entertained the crowd with music. And Timothy’s dance team and State qualifying cheer team fired up the crowd with show-stopping performances.

It may have appeared to be an easy, seamless production, but trust me – the teachers and coaches spent hours preparing the students for Saturday night. Of course, you should know by now that this is how Timothy approaches all things. Our coaches and teachers never settle.

Both the JV and varsity soccer teams earned hard-fought victories against an always worthy cross-town rival, ICCP. It was incredible to witness the Stadium packed (it seats 1,000 people!) with fans cheering on the Trojans.

Not only did Team Timothy unite at this historic Grand Opening event, but we also met our fundraising goal for the For the Win! campaign. You may remember that just 30 days before the Grand Opening was set to take place, we still had nearly $300,000 to raise.  As I’ve said over and over again, I’m fervently committed to remaining debt free. So I put forth a challenge…and my team got creative, rolled up their sleeves, and got to work. “$300,000 in 30 Days” became our internal battle cry. Over the course of those 30 days, even some of our student-athletes came in (after a full day of school and practice, no less) to call many potential donors. And once again, this community came through in a big way.

Not only did Team Timothy unite at this historic Grand Opening event, but we also met our fundraising goal for the For the Win! campaign.

Team Timothy: we did it! We hit our goal for the For the Win! campaign in less than 30 days! In other words, with this $7MM project closed out, Team Timothy has raised an overall figure of almost $60MM (that’s 60 million dollars!) over the last 12 years  – and that includes program enhancements, campus renovations, new construction, and real estate acquisitions. Every step of the way, Team Timothy has always hit its mark in fundraising. During this 12 year stretch of extraordinary expansion and growth, we’ve never carried a penny in debt. I’m grateful for your generosity and belief in our mission…and all the glory belongs to God.

Trojan Stadium is nothing short of a state-of-the-art facility. You’d be hard pressed to find an area high school that can match it. But it’s so much more than that. It’s a training ground and also a place for togetherness and Christ-centered community to take place.

Thank you, Team Timothy, for supporting the mission of Timothy Christian Schools and celebrating this historic Grand Opening. Above all, thank you for praying for Timothy. Nothing is impossible with God! You can count on Timothy in the journey and the adventures ahead – all for the glory of God.

I love this community! I’ve just finished my 30th year in Christian education, and I’m more convinced than ever that the partnership of the home and the Christian school is one of the last strongholds of truth, hope, and purpose for our youth. Because that’s what I believe, I’m all yours in this mission.
