During Renew, junior Bella Bouman had an unforgettable internship at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland! She teamed up with a Structural Dynamics Test Engineer at NASA’s cutting-edge Integration and Testing Complex—a facility that includes the Spacecraft Systems Development and Integration Facility, home to the largest clean room in North America.

At NASA, Bella got a front-row seat to the intense world of spacecraft testing, witnessing components pushed to their limits to ensure they’re launch-ready. She also explored the Exploration and In-space Services Projects Division, diving into the exciting realm of robotics engineering and seeing firsthand how intricate mechanical systems and robots are designed and built to service spacecraft orbiting Earth.
