$1.1MM Raised At The Auction
Amy Bode

The 2021 Beyond the Classroom Auction closed with the high school choir (recorded) singing of Great Is Thy Faithfulness, which is a long-standing Timothy tradition. But in no time in Timothy’s history have these words rung more true:

Great is Thy faithfulness, New mercies I see, All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.

The auction (like everything else this year) looked different. Instead of gathering in a ballroom at a local hotel, we met under a beautiful tent in the Ward Athletic Center parking lot. Guests were treated to dinner by three different food trucks and STEAM coffee was there for after-dinner coffee and dessert. It was a joyful night for the community to reconnect.

Yes, it’s true the auction (and just about everything this school year) looked different. But God’s faithfulness has remained the same — steady and unchanged. And in no time in Timothy’s 110 year history has that been more evident than this year. In fact, God’s faithfulness to the Timothy community has been nothing short of miraculous.

Matt Davidson opened the night by announcing two, large matching gifts — one from Pat & Amy Jones and another from Heidi Huizenga along with PJ & Abby Huizenga. Although the Huizenga family had already committed the lead gift for Project IMPACT Phase 3, this additional matching gift was in honor of Marty Ozinga who had gone home to be with the Lord just days before the auction. Marty was a mighty warrior and benefactor for many Christian organizations (including Timothy), a Timothy grandfather, a dear friend of the Huizenga family and of Timothy Christian Schools. Then Davidson announced the goal for the night — $1,000,000.00! The audience at the event, inspired by these matching gifts, not only met the challenge...they exceeded it by raising $1.1MM for our school.

The outpouring of generosity by the Timothy community throughout the auction was not only humbling, but a testament to the commitment to Christ-centered, Biblically-based education.

The auction helped raise funds for Project IMPACT Phase 3 — a $10MM renovation of our high school.  As part of our team here at Timothy, you have helped us to raise nearly $50MM for our school since 2010. Equally important, you have helped us remain debt free. Extraordinary!

Thank you for supporting the mission of Timothy Christian Schools. The new high school renovation will help our teachers continue to uphold Biblical truth and ignite academic growth — all for the glory of God!
