In our network of Christian schools, locally, and nationally, I’m not aware of any school that is experiencing the radioactive level of growth like Timothy — record enrollment and 300+ students in a waitpool and more inquiries each day. Most people I speak with have never seen anything like this. My team is working frantically to keep up with the demand.
In order to accommodate this growth, we will need to eventually add more classrooms on campus. However, it’s clear to everyone that traffic on campus and on Prospect cannot handle more vehicles. The City of Elmhurst understandably does not want to see any expansion that will lead to more traffic on Prospect or Butterfield, so how can we add more classrooms and more families without adding to the congestion that is already causing headaches for many? Well, we’re Timothy Christian...and we find solutions.
Since 2010, we’ve added a little over 2 acres to our campus footprint — which is a remarkable feat in an area of such density. (See areas outlined as “Recently Acquired”.) Our construction and renovation get most of the campus headlines, but the real estate acquisitions we’ve made (without debt) are equally important for our vitality. And now we’re adding almost another acre to our footprint with the purchase of a parcel directly east of our tennis courts — the Keating property. (See area outlined in blue as “Keating Property.”)

This real estate purchase will ultimately unlock future opportunities for our school and will provide ingress/egress to Euclid and Harvard. We are working with our architect and civil engineers to develop a plan for this, and it might take some time to make it happen — probably years. For now, we have secured the property in a strategic move for campus infrastructure. Of course, you probably already assumed this — but we’ve done this once again without the help of a lender thus keeping our school free of any long-term debt.
This acquisition provides strong punctuation to an already amazing school year. Against the odds, but by the Lord’s guidance and the power of His might, Timothy was able to thrive this year. Please continue your prayers for our school as we consider the opportunities ahead of us.
Press on, Timothy.
