Timothy Christian Schools started a new award to be given annually – the Outstanding Leadership Award. The perfect and the only choice for the award this year was Heidi Huizenga. The inaugural award was given to me last year, so I guess some would argue that Heidi is the first legitimate and deserving recipient.

Peter & Heidi have been the lead supporters and donors on every project during my twelve years at Timothy. Some of you might know that Peter was a Timothy alumni (Class of 1956). From the time of its inception until God took him Home, Peter served as the Chairman of the Timothy Foundation. It’s been four years since Peter entered the Kingdom of God, and Heidi has faithfully continued the Huizenga legacy. She is such a dear friend to me, and I can’t imagine the journey without her. And I definitely can’t imagine our school without the Huizenga family. Heidi is the proud grandmother of four Timothy students (one is a Class of 2022 graduate!).

Heidi always has such good ideas. Some of my favorite moments during my time at Timothy have been brainstorming and dreaming with her for our school. She is a true partner in the work and the mission. She stands firmly on the promises of God…on His Truth. She possesses Biblical wisdom, and I continue to learn from her. Heidi has helped to promote Timothy to the gold standard of excellence – all the while remaining anchored to God’s Word.

May this annual award serve as a reminder that we will keep The Main Thing the Main Thing here at Timothy. Count on it!
