Matt & Julie Davidson are moving into the “Timothy Home,” which will be a place to host new family gatherings, student events, staff socials, board and donor events, and parent connections.

In recent years we have identified real estate in our AMI (area of material interest) as part of our vision for the future. We purchased the Henry Tameling home on the southwest corner of Butterfield and Prospect, which is now our new parking lot. (.93 acres +/-) With 5 consecutive years of enrollment growth, it is hard to imagine the parking issues we would have on our campus without this additional lot. You will also recall that we successfully negotiated a deal with the city of Elmhurst to acquire a 25' strip of land along much of our east property line. Although the timing is entirely speculative, the vision is to eventually expand our stadium.

The latest real estate acquisition within our AMI occurred earlier in the fall. The Timothy Foundation closed a deal on the Ticks Groenboom property which is directly west of the new parking lot. The family was excited to sell the property to our school, and we are blessed by their loyalty and generosity. This adds another .94 acres to our campus and opens doors for future opportunities. It is also frontage property on Butterfield and will maintain and most likely increase in value over time — thus a strong investment/asset for our school. In an area with the density of Elmhurst, it is remarkable that we have added over two contiguous acres to our footprint over the last few years.

The School Board and The Foundation board have unanimously decided to make the home a "Timothy home,” at least for the foreseeable future, and they have asked Matt & Julie Davidson to live in the home and use it to advance Timothy's mission. I think we would all agree that Matt practically lives at school anyway and has just shortened his commute.

It is important for you to know that the vision is to host new family gatherings, student events, staff socials, board and donor events, parent connections, etc in the home. Some of us who have multi-generational roots at Timothy probably know that this was the original "farm house" in this corridor of Prospect and Butterfield before Timothy was ever built and owned by one of the families that had the vision to secure the property that our school now sits on. There is a rich history with this home as it relates to the story of Timothy. Later in the spring we will host a staff open house in the home and give everyone an opportunity to see the "Timothy farm house" up close.

In the advancement office, we consider the added real estate to our footprint in Elmhurst to be highly strategic. This property has been ultimately provided through the Foundation by multiple donors from over the years, and it will soon be deeded to our school. These newly acquired assets provide strength and stability to our overall portfolio and give us more flexibility for the future. We are thankful to God for this gift and this opportunity for our school and for our future.
