I have been described as creative and logical. Students describe me as “chill”. I enjoy World War II history and reenacting, vintage muscle cars, and all things science. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my wife and two girls or alone in a natural setting with the Lord. Both of our daughters currently attend here at Timothy high school.
I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Bradley University with which I did organic chemistry research, worked for Caterpillar’s oil lab, and in pharmaceutical testing before God called me into teaching. My teaching certification is through Trinity Christian College and I also have an M.A. in Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University. I joined Timothy Christian staff in 1995.
I agree with Reformed theologian Abraham Kuyper when he wrote, “There is not an inch in all Creation of which Jesus does not say ‘Mine’.” I believe in focusing current scientific knowledge and theories through a Christian lens. In addition to understanding science, I want my students to answer questions like “What are our Christian responsibilities now that we have this new information” and “How can this information deepen my faith and understanding of our Creator?”
