RECord-breaking auction!

What happens at an event when God is present, our mission is highlighted, our students participate and we gather as a community for a common cause? The results are truly amazing! I have been involved in Timothy auctions for 15 years now. So maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at the way Team Timothy always steps up. But I am once again! I’m surprised and grateful for so many people who support Christ-centered education. Before the event even started, I was delighted and surprised that we had a record $104,500 from sponsors that helped underwrite the event and also the number of constituents providing items and experiences for the Auction. Then I was surprised at the number of matching gifts that we continued to receive even on the day of the auction! These all helped to get us off to a great start before the auction even started! Praise & thanks to God! God worked in the hearts of men and women in our community to make this happen.

And, of course, it’s also a wonderful surprise to see so many volunteers work tirelessly for weeks and months to make the Auction such a success. (Way to go!) Upon arriving at the Drury Lane for the Auction, it was a breathtaking surprise to see the room set up and decorated…it felt magical. As the night began, it was one surprise after another as the generosity of our community was on full display – absolutely incredible! All in all, the weekend and the weeks leading up to the auction held a variety of marvelous surprises – which added up to an overall fundraising total of $1,285,000 for our school! Wow! These funds will be used to purchase additional property contiguous to the Timothy Campus. We raised a majority of the cost of this property at this record-setting auction.

But one thing that doesn’t surprise me at all at Timothy Christian Schools is the deep-rooted sense of community. We make a great team, and it was evident throughout the evening. Parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, and staff all blended together with locked arms for the best cause of them all – our school. From the jazz band, to the heartfelt testimonies of four students, performances of our chamber choir to the remarks from the podium to the laughter and fellowship to the handshakes and hugs – it all felt genuinely perfect. 

The biggest take away from the Auction for me was how much we all love Timothy Christian Schools. We are blessed to witness this every day in a front row seat. Thank you, Team Timothy, for your commitment to our mission. Our youth – our children and grandchildren – are counting on us! 

As we continue our journey and partnership together, and as we carry out our mission together, it shouldn’t be a surprise to any of us when we see our young people changing the world by fully living out God’s purpose for their lives. Inspiring and rewarding? Yes. But not a surprise. Why? Because with God all things are possible. We are beyond thankful for everyone who helped to make these results possible. All for the Glory of God!
