Taste of Timothy: CELEBRATING COMMUNITY

From beginning to end, the energy at The Drake Hotel was palpable. Taste of Timothy was truly a celebration of community.

The 200 attendees reflected the full breadth of the Timothy community. Teachers and their spouses from every grade level were present, along with administrators and school board members. The evening also welcomed parents who were brand new to Timothy, as well as families representing third- and fourth-generation students.

The tone was set by outstanding music from the Timothy’s high school jazz band, directed by Mr. Doug Pelt. Their performance provided a warm and inviting backdrop as guests gathered and reconnected with old friends while meeting new ones. Conversations were so lively that it took several attempts to invite everyone to take their seats.

School Board President Ryan Brandsma opened the evening with a warm welcome, a brief introduction, and prayer. Guests then enjoyed an exceptional meal featuring a diverse selection of cuisine inspired by Great Britain, the Caribbean, and China.

Following dinner, Superintendent Matt Davidson delivered an informative and inspiring presentation. He reminded attendees of Timothy’s founding mission from 1911, which continues to guide the school today: “Timothy exists to uphold Biblical truth, ignite academic growth, and inspire courageous leadership—one student at a time—for the glory of God.”

He also introduced the upcoming Stack the WAC campaign, which aims to prepare students for college and beyond, equipping them to succeed in life while staying at the forefront academically, technologically, and spiritually. The initiative will add 6th grade to the middle school building, expand student support, create new opportunities for growth and challenge, and launch a 6–12 AI & STEM Center designed to equip students to lead ethically in industries shaping the global economy.

Although the evening formally concluded, many guests chose to stay, continuing conversations and celebrating the strength of the Timothy community.
