Don’t miss out … Reserve the Date … January 24 from 7-9 pm in the WAC lobby!
Research tells us that, on average, Americans spend 12 hours and 28 minutes per day with screens. That time reduces time for family talk, sleep, regular social interaction, and physical engagement. While there are some positive effects, many more negative effects are being revealed in the literature. Most of these negative effects impact our students, our families, and our school with too much frequency. We wrestle with these effects regularly as teachers and administrators, and parents often have few options to help them deal with the challenge.
In our continued pledge to partner with our families, we have invited Dr. Doreen Dodgen-Magee to TC to help us with this timely and difficult topic. Doreen is an internationally known Christian speaker, researcher, and author of Deviced! Balancing Life and Technology in a Digital World. Her unique, fast-paced speaking style, reminiscent of Ted Talks, will keep you riveted as she addresses how technology is shaping the neurological, interpersonal, and interpersonal lives of our children. Her approach is far from technology averse and offers a balanced perspective and full spectrum look at the issues of today. There will be many practical ideas and suggestions about how to guide your children towards a more healthy use of technology.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity. See you on January 24!
