The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is the national professional organization of choral directors. There are not only national events, but also regional and state divisions. Congratulations to 19 of our 5th-9th grade choir students, who have been accepted into the highly selective Central and North Division Honor Choirs. They will perform at Harris Theater in Millennium Park on February 17, 2018, as part of the Central and North Division ACDA Regional Conference to be held in Chicago. To pass this audition, elementary students had to prepare an excerpt by twentieth century composer Bela Bartok and 7-9th grade students had to prepare an excerpt by Stephan Paulus. The Central and North ACDA Divisions represent 8 states. Close to 1500 students auditioned for one of 250 spots.
