8th Grade Celebration Hospitality

Every year we ask 7th grade parents to provide hospitality at the 8th grade celebration reception. This includes contributing cookies, setting up, refreshing the cookies during the reception, and cleaning up afterward. Contact Jackie Seremak seremak@timothychristian.com

Ambassador for New Parents

Help us connect new families with other Timothy families by grade. This is a great chance to help someone find their place and integrate into the Timothy community. Apple Pie Day

This is the sweetest Timothy tradition. Volunteers are needed to assemble hundreds of pies. This is the perfect opportunity for grandparents, alumni, and parents to volunteer. This fundraiser, which raises money for Timothy’s community events and teacher appreciation initiatives, dates back many years. Athletics Volunteers

Athletics is a big part of student life here at Timothy, and we need your help! Athletics is more than just learning to compete, it's about training the next generation of servant leaders both on and off the field. Athletic volunteer opportunities include:

  • Setup and takedown for games (scoring table, bleachers, etc)
  • Running the scoreboard, staffing the entrance and collecting fees, etc.
  • Hospitality for tournaments.
  • Working the IHSA sectional track meet.

Auction

This biennial community event raises funds for special initiatives. We need help serving on the planning team, procuring auction items, and serving the night of the event at registration and check-out. This event includes dinner as well as both a silent and live auction. This is an auction year, so be on the lookout for opportunities to volunteer this year! Back-to-School Swim Party

This is a beloved event that kicks-off the start of the school year. It’s held at Paradise Bay Waterpark in Lombard for all PreK-8th grade families. We need volunteers to welcome families and receive the admissions fees at the gate. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet people. Contact: Ann Oglevee oglevee@timothychristian.com

Children's Toy & Clothing Resale

Timothy hosts two resales, in fall and spring, offering our community the opportunity to buy and sell quality used children's clothing and toys.  There are countless volunteer opportunities, from setting up the sale to operating the cash register.  New consignors are welcome!   Clothing and toy donations are also accepted with a donation deadline two weeks prior to the sale.  Proceeds go toward the Community Events budget. Concessions Volunteers

Calling all Trojan fans! Volunteer in the concession stand and you’re sure to meet many, many people from the Timothy community. This is a fun volunteer opportunity that also allows you to cheer on your Trojans. Contact: Sheri LeGrand legrands@timothychristian.com

Elementary Book Fair

1-5 Day Commitment

If you love books, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!  Volunteers will help in one or more of the following ways: Set up and take down the sale, assist students in choosing books, run the cashier table, and restock merchandise.  This is a great opportunity to interact with students and teachers as they pick books for their homes/classrooms! Elementary Lunch and Recess Supervision

The elementary school needs consistent, weekly volunteers to help serve and monitor 1st-6th grade lunch from 11:20am-12:40pm. Outdoor recess supervision is also needed to monitor K-6th grade from 11:30-1:00. This is a great opportunity for elementary parents to get on campus on a regular basis. Grandparents & Grandfriends Day

Homecoming

Come home to Timothy! Volunteers are needed in the fall during the boys Homecoming soccer game in Trojan Stadium. This is a large community event and volunteers are needed to staff the spirit wear tent, help serve food, and welcome alumni. Contact: Olivia Poortinga poortinga@timothychristian.com

Hometown Group Meet-ups

Interested in connecting with Timothy families in your area? Start a Hometown Group! There have been some great success stories when people decided to take the initiative and start a local Timothy meet-up. Need help or ideas? Jubilee Resale

Our resale store in Lombard sells quality, used furniture and clothing for all ages. Want to serve on the "floor"? It's a great time — from helping customers find what they need, to ringing up sales, or perhaps decorating the floor room, this volunteer job is a lot of fun. Want to put your strength to good use? Jubilee is in urgent need of strong volunteers (aged 16+) to help in two ways: assist in the unloading area or by riding in the Jubilee truck to pick up donated items. This is an opportunity for parents and teens to serve alongside one another — just remember, strength is a requirement for this position. Profits from this store help support The Timothy Fund. Men's Prayer Group

We believe prayer changes things! Timothy dads, grandfathers, and fathers of alumni are invited to pray over Timothy Christian Schools on Friday at 6:30 a.m. in the Advancement Office. Contact: Bob Venhousen venhousen@timothychristian.com

Middle School Monthly Events

To foster a Christ-centered community, Timothy hosts a monthly community event for all middle school students. In the past, middle school students have had a movie night, lΕ«au, and have even played yard games and roasted marshmallows at the Davidson’s house! Moms in Prayer

We believe prayer changes things! Timothy moms, grandmothers, aunts and moms of alumni are welcometo pray over Timothy Christian Schools weekly on Friday mornings at 8:30am across the street at Faith CRC. Contact: Melissa Adams or Casey Ong at momsinprayer@timothychristian.com

Music and Drama Volunteers

There are many ways to volunteer for Timothy's vibrant music and drama department throughout the year. Music department opportunities with band, choir, and orchestra 5th-12th grade abound, from ushering, setup and teardown, and more. If you are interested in volunteering to help with middle or high school drama productions, there are several opportunities, including set construction, concessions sales, ushering, and more. New Parent Welcome & Coffee

Held the first full week of school to welcome parents new to Timothy - breakfast bites and coffee, plus an opportunity to hear from school principals and superintendent. Volunteers are needed to help serve and welcome new parents. Contact: Olivia Poortinga poortinga@timothychristian.com

Performing Arts Boosters

A committee of volunteers coordinates all of the necessary work involved in organizing the details related to the Performing Arts Booster program. There are opportunities to volunteer for various performances during the school. Contact: Erin Lanenga lanenga@timothychristian.com

Picture Ladies

The Picture Lady program is the longest running program at Timothy. Each volunteer gets a painting and is encouraged to research it. Then once a month, the Picture Lady (or guy) visits a classroom with a classic painting and tells the students about the artist and interprets the painting. Then they tell the students about the philosophy of the painting, where the artist lived, how they were trained. Contact: Karen Myers kdm808@comcast.net

Pizza Day Fundraiser

Pizza Day is a fundraiser held on Tuesdays September - May for all full day kindergarten through 8th grade. Proceeds from Pizza Day go toward the overall Community Events budget. There are weekly volunteer opportunities to serve pizza in the elementary and middle schools. Rise and Pray: An Early Morning Prayer Group for Women

An additional women's prayer group is coming to Timothy. Well suited for working women or those who have early morning availability, Rise and Pray will meet weekly on Monday mornings from 6:30-7:15am in the high school conference room. Room Parents

Room parents support their home room teacher K-8th grade. They are responsible for planning the Christmas party and supporting any special projects that teachers may request. This is a full year commitment. Contact:  Leslie Wolterstorff wolterstorff@timothychristian.com

Spirit Wear

Staff Appreciation

Timothy’s teachers are superheroes! Each year we celebrate them during Teacher Appreciation Week. We need volunteers to assist with lunches, special treats, and other surprises! This is a fun way to thank our teachers. We are always looking for restaurant owners who would like to donate food during Teacher Appreciation week. Taste of Timothy

This delicious biennial community event is a fundraiser. It always sells out and is a great community event. Timothy Golf Outing

The Timothy Golf Outing is held in September each year at a premier course in the western suburbs of Chicago. Funds raised support our overall Athletics budget for the year. Year End Celebration: A Community Event

Held in early May, this event typically includes food and entertainment as a way to celebrate a great school year. This event is geared toward the entire Timothy community. Grandparents and alumni are welcome! We need many volunteers to help make sure this event runs smoothly.
